{Sass in the City}

07.25.17

Hey there Everyone!

Did y’all have a good weekend?!?!  (I couldn’t help myself!) Since my last post, the fam and I have migrated down to North Carolina to its finest Outer Banks.  I am totally taking advantage of this time to relax, reset and unwind.  We are 4 families.  That’s right, we are 8 adults, 8 children and 1 happy crumb eating pup! We are taking full advantage of the beautiful surf, riding some waves and catching enough rays to light the nights until dawn!

In missing my beautiful city of brotherly love, today I am talking about two fun looks shot before we left Philadelphia!  Both outfits are fun and easy looks that highlight “shorts and a top”.  I find it to be so fascinating how, just like city neighborhoods, these looks can be so similar, yet so drastically different at the same time! Philadelphia is abundant of so many unique neighborhoods. This is one of the countless things I do love about our city. It is so diverse and the culture, food and areas of interest can change within one street block!

I am a true city girl at heart. My husband and I lived in center city for many years before kids and even with our daughter for a few years. But as our family grew, we decided to take matters elsewhere and now have a beautiful yard and colorful gardens to send the kids out to play in.  We feel very fortunate, because even though we are in the “burbs” the commute to center city is just minutes. It was a wise choice, and so now we can have the best of both worlds!  Dinner and outings in the city are a breeze, and now our city dwelling friends have a destination to call their own “in the country” as they sometimes say.

In today’s looks I am highlighting two summer looks for those adventures in the city.  When I was pulling this post together, It sort of seemed like an East Side vs, West Side kind of thing.  Look 1 would be more suitable for the more polished side of the city where street cafes may resemble those of Paris or Milan.  Look 2, is a more down to earth casual, gritty graphiti side of town vibe.  Both are easy and provide flirt, but have their time and place.
