I hope you had a great weekend! I was kept busy with my daughter’s 8th birthday party and my sister-in-law’s birthday party! But that all aside, I couldn’t stop thinking about the biggest sale of the season! I felt compelled to make sure that everyone out there was aware of this, because It really is the most wonderful time of the year! GUYS AND GALS, it is CHRISTMAS IN JULY over there! Where you might ask? Well in case you have been living in a cave and/or are not all that into getting good deals, that would be at The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
Most sales are clearance sales. That means that retailers are purging all of the previous and current items to make room for the upcoming merchandise. So you would expect, like those sales, that the Anniversary Sale taking place in July is composed of older spring and summer items that won’t do you much good heading into Autumn/Winter 2017. But no my friends, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is super focused on the fact that we are just on the brink of a season change and thus it features UPCOMING, hot off the press, get it here first finds for your new winter coats, updated jean styles, OTK boots, jewelry, handbags, knitwear, back-to-school styles for the kids, menswear, cold weather wear… Yeah, you get my drift.
So amongst my busy weekend, I took the time to scope it out for you; You’re welcome. It was a dirty job, but someone had to do it. Until July 20, those of you with a Nordstrom card can gain access to the Early Preview and claim those goodies first! ~ Not a worry to those who don’t have the Nordstrom card, this sale is large and in charge through August 8th!

This look is perfect as we will soon transition from warmer to cooler temps. Both the top (under $30) and jeans (under $60) are super comfortable and can work perfectly for those casual summer nights out for drinks AND for running to volunteer at the school this Fall! The top by Soprano is feminine and chic with the bows and off the shoulder details. The satiny silk fabric makes it luxe for any occasion. And the dusty blush color is so suitable for the transition giving warmth as we enter September too.
The jeans by BLANKNYC and are a girlfriend cut which is not too baggy but also not super skinny. They are played out in this casual yet refined and slightly cropped cut. I am officially announcing these as the UPDATED BOOTCUT. They have a ripped hem, slight flair and sit just at my ankle. At first due to the length I thought they were wrong. I had major urges of rolling them once or even “peg rolling” them like in the 80’s! But the fabric was so soft that it wouldn’t hold. So as Tim Gunn would say from Project Runway, “Make it work People!” I did just that, and embraced the concept and made it mine. I am totally obsessed with it now!
One of my all time fave sneakers are making an appearance in this look. I am wearing the Thelma Wedge Sneaker by Ash. With the black leather uppers and rubber soles they are pretty easy to pair up with this casual look. The entry is a side zip for easy on, easy off action. The wedge gives it a more sleek edge, while the buckles keep it funky. This Thelma Wedge has a higher 3″ wedge heel (AND IS ON SALE NOW!), but for those who prefer to keep it a little more conservative, you’re in luck. Ash also made this style with a lower 2″ heel for the Genial sneaker wedge available here and here!
