Isn’t she zippy? This cutie of a Vespa makes me smile every time I drift by her in our garage. She sits proudly and perkily in the comforts of our home, and every time I look at her, I beam with pride and joy. It is no wonder I feel like a queen in her throne whenever I give her a spin?!?! I thought this was an appropriate location to showcase this amazingly soft and comfy Queen T by Free People. Paired with their faux leather mini skirt and some black booties, and I’m ready to zoom!
Thanks to the birthday celebration of one of my dearest and oldest girlfriends (no pun intended!), I had the opportunity for a weekend getaway in beautiful Cancun, Mexico. Cancun certainly has it’s reputation of being a high volume “touristy hot spot”, which is not at all false nor a bad thing. But, can we just stop for a second and appreciate why?!?!
The beaches and turquoise water are enough to get my attention. I remember the first time I visited Cancun while expecting my daughter nearly 8 years ago. I was SO “impressed” by the color of the water that I described it to my parents as resembling Ice Blue Raspberry Kool-Aid. It looked FAKE it was so blue! It is most often on this day, where we will come across posts and messages, or are circled around the table with our friends and family, where we will hear what they are thankful for. And, as I listen to each and every one of them, I reflect on what I too am thankful for. I have been blessed with a beautiful loving husband and father to my two healthy children who thrive on life with no limits, parents who have supported me through my many ups and downs, and yes my two quirky Siamese cats who drive ME up the wall with their attitudes at times.
I would be dishonest if I did not mention you, my friends. You’ve gone along with my many tactics, dried my tears with your sleeve, laughed at my jokes even if they were not funny, and gave me your honesty when no one else was willing. My ceaseless yearning to see the world has brought my eyes and soul to so many places, people and ideologies. My tenacity in life has pushed me to limits some only dream of, pushing me often beyond my own comfort levels.
For all of this, I am Thankful.
Today is a day where we are surrounded with thanks. It is so refreshing to learn about what makes you happy and appreciative, instead of what scares you, frustrates you, or infuriates you. May this grateful state of mind continue on today and everyday as we head into the holiday season and beyond!
